“Ummmm what?” is what I constantly am asking myself every Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 3-4:45 pm. During this time, you will find me sitting in PSC 105: Introduction to Political Science.
Although I was required to take Government in high school, I am constantly confused in this class. And it doesn’t help that the professor often treats us like we are incompetent whenever we ask a question. Don’t get me wrong, I strongly believe that it is important to be politically informed. But unfortunately, whenever someone brings up something political in a conversation, I’d rather avoid it than begin some intense political conversation about the varying opinions on politics and presidential nominees.
As I write this reflection, I would like to let you all know that the class is currently 5 weeks behind. 5 WEEKS. In some ways, I do believe that this class is a waste, but I also believe that it is important to take because so many people are uneducated when it comes to the government and what they are and are not allowed to do and taking this class would help to solve that issue, surface level of course.
I have not learned much during this class, but what I have l learned is very beneficial! For the last 6 weeks of classes I’m sure I will continue to ask myself, “ummmm what?” but at least I now can explain Articles 1,2 and 3 of the constitution, right?
